รัฐ Western Australia มีเมืองหลวงคือ Perth ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกของประเทศออสเตรเลีย เมือง Perth ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นหนึ่งในเมืองที่มีความปลอดภัยสูงสุดและประชาชนมีความเป็นมิตรมากที่สุดของประเทศออสเตรเลีย การเดินทางจากประเทศไทยไปยังเมือง Perth จะใช้ระยะเวลาประมาณ 7 ชั่วโมง การเดินทางจากรัฐ Western Australia ไปเมืองต่างๆของประเทศออสเตรเลียจะสามารถเดินทางด้วยเครื่องบิน โดยสายการบิน Qantas หรือ สายการบิน Virgin Airlines หรือทางรถไฟโดย Indian Pacific หรือ ทางรถโดยสารสาธารณะ ลักษณะสภาพภูมิอากาศเป็นแบบเมดิเตอร์เรเนียนโดยฤดูร้อนจะมีสภาพภูมิอากาศแบบอบอุ่นส่วนฤดูหนาวจะมีอากาศเย็นสบาย กล่าวโดยทั่วไปแล้วลักษณะสภาพภูมิอากาศที่เมือง Perth จะคล้ายกับสภาพภูมิอากาศของประเทศไทย ที่ Perth จะมีฤดูร้อนที่ยาวนานกว่ารัฐอื่นๆของประเทศออสเตรเลีย สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่สำคัญของ Perth ได้แก่ The Cottesloe Beach, Kings Park และ Caversham Wildlife Park
Edith Cowan University (ECU) ก่อตั้งเมื่อ ปี ค.ศ. 1861 ECU มีทั้งหมด 3 campus คือ Joondalup Campus, Mouth Lawley Campus ซึ่งอยู่ไม่ไกลจาก CBD และ South West (Bunbury) campus นักศึกษาสามารถเดินทางไปที่มหาวิทยาลัยโดยรถบัสสาธารณะ หรือ รถไฟ ECU มีนักศึกษาต่างชาติประมาณ 4,000 คน ที่มาจากมากกว่า 90 ประเทศทั่วโลก ปัจจุบันนี้ ECU เปิดสอนมากกว่า 400 คอร์สทั้งระดับ ปริญญาตรี ประกาศนียบัตรบัณฑิต อนุปริญญาโท ปริญญาโท และ ปริญญาเอกดังนั้นนักศึกษาสามารถเลือกเรียนคอร์สที่เหมาะสมกับตนเองได้ ECU จัดเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกมากมายสำหรับนักศึกษา เช่น ธนาคาร ร้านขายหนังสือ ร้านอาหาร ร้านกาแฟ ห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัย สถานที่รับเลี้ยงเด็ก ร้านตัดผม ศูนย์บริการสุขภาพ คลินิกตา สถานที่จอดรถ ยิ่งไปกว่านั้นทางมหาวิทยาลัยยังมีบริการมากมายเพื่อประโยชน์โดยตรงของนักศึกษา เช่น เจ้าหน้าที่ที่ให้คำแนะนำในเรื่องของการเรียน บริการจัดหางาน ชมรมกิจกรรมต่างๆ เป็นต้น

เกณฑ์การรับสมัครเรียน
เรียนปริญญาตรีต้องมีผลคะแนนสอบ IELTS = 6.0
เรียนปริญญาโทต้องมีผลคะแนนสอบ IELTS = 6.5
กรณีที่นักศึกษามีผลคะแนน IELTS ไม่ถึงตามเกณฑ์ที่ทางมหาวิทยาลัยกำหนด นักศึกษาสามารถเรียน EAP เพิ่มเติมกับทางมหาวิทยาลัยได้โดยตรง และเมื่อจบหลักสูตรแล้วสามารถเข้าศึกษาปริญญาตรีหรือปริญญาโทได้โดยไม่ต้องทำการทดสอบ IELTS อีก
